OUIJA SESSION TUESDAY MAY 20, 2003
This session was conducted by Pat and myself. It was held in the living room of my home and it started at approximately eight in the evening. This was the second time Pat and I tried a Ouija session. I have used the board many times and I have found that different spirits, (if that is what spells out) have their own feel to them. When I have contacted the same entity several times, I have come to know the “feel” of that particular spirit. There are characteristics that are peculiar to each entity. Some are good spellers while other are terrible. Some will circle the letter several times before finally settling on one. In many cases, I have muttered to myself or thought to myself: “Land already.” In other cases, I would get garbled messages or a string of consonants. During those sessions, I have been heard to say: “Can I buy a vowel?” In many cases, the spirit needed to warm up. In other instances, they get right to the point. Some move the planchette very quickly. This particular spirit moved very slowly between letters but it was clear. I have seen or worked sessions where the letters went by so fast that you had to stop and decipher what was said.
Sometimes I would get herky jerky movements or times where obvious words were spelled out but that was misleading when you studied the message closely. For example, it may spell out the following:
TOM ET HIS P LACE. Here you might think it is saying Tom (something) his (something) lace or possibly “place.” So here seems to be a message for Tom, whatever it is saying. However, once you read the whole string, it really says: “To me this place.” Do you get the idea? The obvious is not always so obvious.
Since this one moved slowly, it was easy to keep up with what was being said. However, it took a long time to spell out a word and that was somewhat frustrating. Anyway, we started the session and after several seconds, the planchette began to move slowly. To make it easier to follow, I will list all of the information provided by the board in capital letters. In the event that it touched a word, I will indicate that. Moving slowly, it spelled out:
Tom: What is your name?
MY NAME IS MILLER LIGHT LIGHT
Pat: That is your name? Is this a joke? It’s not funny.
TAKE PICTURE OUTSIDE AT 8:45
Tom: Take a picture where?
BACK YARD BY TREE
Tom: By the oak tree?
Pat: Who will we see?
U WILL SEE
Tom: What did you say? Who will we see?
JUST DO IT
Tom: If that is a command, I won’t do it.
Pat: Will we see you?
HAPPY TO SHOW MYSELF
Tom: Who are you?
Tom: Do you live here?
Tom: Why are you here?
Pat: When will you leave?
Tom: When did you die?
Pat: Did you die on this date?
Tom: Where did you die?
Tom: Which one?
Pat: How old were you?
Pat: Do you still have family living?
I WAS LAST ONE
Pat: I hope you find peace.
This was the end of the session. It had lasted just over thirty minutes. At 8:43, we went outside with the digital camera and began taking pictures. Amazingly, we captured many orb photographs. They can be found in the photo gallery.
I am never quite sure what to make of Ouija sessions. I do believe that in some cases, spirits are encountered. In other cases, I believe that many of the answers or messages come from inside one or more of the operators. However, this session is interesting because the spirit told us we would be able to photograph him and sure enough, at the appointed time, we did indeed get some orb pictures. Surely automatism cannot account for the photographs, unless they are a form of projection. I think that would be a stretch. Of course, there is no way to be sure. That is part of the fun and frustration of the world of the paranormal. So what can we make of this? I will leave that up to the reader to decide. In my opinion, I have to believe that something was there. What do you think? (Click here to see photos)
